VOTERS TURN OUT EARLY IN TEXAS!

DID YOU VOTE EARLY IN THE PRIMARY?

Texans showed up in likely record-breaking numbers during nearly two weeks of early voting for tomorrow’s primaries. Secretary of State Phil Wilson says about two million of the 3.3 million Texans expected to cast ballots — voted early. Wilson bases that estimate on the slightly more than 1.2 million who cast ballots in the 15 most populous counties through Friday’s end of early voting. The campaigns of Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama have urged supporters to vote. Republicans John McCain and Mike Huckabee also campaigned in Texas. The Secretary of State’s Office tally for the 15 most populous counties showed that more than 890,000 registered Democrats voters in those counties — cast ballots early. On the Republican side, more than 303,000 registered voters in the 15 biggest counties cast early ballots. Texas has 12.75 million registered voters.
