SHOULD THE LONE STAR STATE GET RID OF THE TEXAS TWO STEP!

THE PROBLEMS WITH CAUCUSING IN TEXAS!

I was out covering a Houston church in southeast Houston Tuesday night which also serves as a polling place when mass confusion prevailed. Throughout most of the day the voting process went smoothly, but when it was time to caucus things got a little crazy. Several people complained the precinct judge had no idea what she was doing. They said they didn’t have enough sign in sheets or voting ballots to do what was needed. This was the first time in a while Texas played a vital role in the Presidential race and because of that I think a lot of people got caught off guard with the Texas Two Step. More than 30% of the voters exercised their right that night. The Two Step is essentially voting twice during the primary. Once for the popular vote, the second is for a third of the delegate points. But now some are saying with the problems and the mass confusion around the state – it may be time we get rid of the Two Step. What do you think? Should Texas retire the Two Step and only vote once during the Presidential primary? The Insite would love to hear from you!
