THERE WAS ONLY ONE FAMILIAR FACE IN THE HBCU CROWD FOR THE INSITE AT THE ROCKETS GAME!
I had a simple goal Monday night, go to the Houston Rockets game and get pictures of HBCU alumni. If you don’t know HBCU stands for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Several HBCU graduates were scheduled to attend the game Monday night. It was designated as HBCU night. But when I arrived I couldn’t find any familiar faces. I went to sections 113, 114, and 115 where I was told they would be by Rockets staffers. From my vantage point I didn’t spot anyone. There were plenty of African Americans but I wasn’t absolutely sure if they were from HBCU’s. But in the 4th quarter or as one woman put in the 4th sector I noticed a familiar face several yards away. It was Shedrick Armstrong. He is a Southern University graduate who stood out with that blue and gold shirt in the crowd. I snapped a couple of pictures. But otherwise I had to endure the night knowing I failed my first assignment. Please pat the Insite on the back and make me feel better for my first photological (new word alert) failure!
