TEJANO SINGER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN HOUSTON!

LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION!

Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira was critically injured when his band bus crashed near Houston today. Navaira and his band Rio had performed at a Houston nightclub last night. Police say the band’s bus slammed into traffic barrels just before dawn on Interstate 610 in the posh Houston enclave of Bellaire. Bellaire police Sergeant Daniel Kerr says the bus was the only
vehicle involved. Fire-rescue officials say Navaira was one of eight people aboard the bus injured in the crash. He’s listed him in critical condition at Memorial Herrman Hospital. Two others were transported to Memorial Hermann, where they were treated for minor injuries and released. The other five were taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where two were listed in critical condition.
Navaira and Rio have released more than a dozen albums, including “Acuerdate” that won the 2003 Grammy for best Tejano album.
