REPORTER CHRIS STIPES: IS THERE AN IRON IN THE NEWSROOM?

I ONLY LEAVE THE BUILDING WITH A CREASE IN MY PANTS!

FOX 26 reporter Chris Stipes caught my attention last weekend during the height of hurricane Ike storm coverage. Why? He was in desperate search of an iron to add some creases to his pants. He said he didn’t want to go out in the field in wrinkled pants. I thought it was pretty funny because most of us didn’t care how we looked going out to cover the storm but Stipes wanted his pants pressed. He said there were simply too many wrinkles in his khaki pants to be seen in public. I say keep them creased Chris!

Chris Stipes fires back:

Okay Isiah, it’s time to defend myself! I spent my previous shift, which was about 15 hours, getting drenched by Ike in Downtown covering the Brennan’s fire. I simply wanted to be in some clean clothes. If they get wrinkled out in the field, great. And to the first guy who posted who called me a “male diva,” not quite. I am a lot of things but a “Diva” is not one of them. I think it’s ridiculous to say you have “more credibility if you reflect the surroundings around you.” So the next time I cover a fire I should cover myself in ashes… c’mon. Finally, if more people pressed their pants the world would be a better place… ha ha!
