I made a stop Tuesday morning at the McDonald’s off Interstate 45 near Airtex for a breakfast sandwich. When I went in I noticed the female clerk was watching me very closely. She seemed almost nervous to take my order. While I was waiting on the food a deputy from Harris County came up and started talking to me. While he was chatting I could see the clerk in my peripheral vision pointing at me with her co-workers. I assumed they recognized me from television. I said hello to the clerk again and asked her how she was doing. She did not say a word but smiled. So I started to talk with the deputy again because my order wasn’t up just yet. Then when my order finally came I started to walk out with the deputy. I noticed the clerk and three other workers from McDonald’s were walking behind me. They never would say hello, they were just smiling. As I was getting into my car all four of them – were standing in the door as if they were saying, “have a good day at work honey.” But the foursome never uttered a word. They just stood in the door and smiled as I pulled out. I’m wondered to myself who is waiting on the customers if 4 McDonald’s workers are gazing at me out of the front door. They were all harmless but left me feeling a bit strange because no one would say anything. They would just look and smile. You think I should getting a restraining order the next time I go back to that McDonald’s? Just kidding!
