SHOULD BAD CREDIT STOP YOU FROM BECOMING A HARRIS COUNTY DEPUTY?

THE POLICY OF THE HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT!

FOX 26 reporter Duarte Geraldino had a very interesting report on KRIV Tuesday night. Apparently, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office won’t hire you if you have a bad credit rating. The department want all potential law enforcement officers to keep their debt below a certain threshold. I think the amount the department has set is $30,000 as unacceptable debt not including a mortgage. The report indicated the department looks at credit rating and not score. Do you think this is a good idea? Are deputies with debt a bad hiring risk? The Insite would like to hear from you!
