The New York Daily News reports that Beyoncé was most displeased on Monday when she was informed that the streets around the Washington, D.C., theater where hubby Jay-Z had been rehearsing for his pre-inauguration performance had been closed down.

The cops supposedly told them they’d have to hoof it the four blocks to their chauffeur-driven car, prompting the chanteuse to put her stiletto-shod foot down.

Beyoncé wouldn’t walk in high heels in the cold,” a source tells the paper. “The cops wouldn’t budge, but the Secret Service agreed to let the driver pick Jay and Beyoncé up, bring them to their hotel so they could change, and get them back to the theater.”

Maybe Beyoncé just wanted to make sure she didn’t catch a chill before she hit the stage the following night to serenade the Obamas with the Etta James standard “At Last” at the Neighborhood Ball, the first of 10 official inauguration celebrations the president and first lady attended on Tuesday night.

Note: The Insite wished he had that kind of celebrity status. I had to walk around the full Capitol Mall complex twice. The full national mall two times. My legs felt like they were going to fall off during the inauguration!
