Investigators have charged a suspect with capital murder after he allegedly admitted the crime to his girlfriend. Lloyd McClain was one of two suspects with weapons who entered the Wing Zone located at the 1900 block of F.M. 1960 West before midnight Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.Officials say the suspects demanded cash from the restaurant safe. According to investigators, when the employee was unable to open the safe quickly, the suspect became agitated and shot the worker.Investigators say the worker ran out of the back door of the restaurant and collapsed. The worker was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.Through information gathered by investigators, they were able to find the girlfriend of McClain.Officials say that while McClain denied any involvement in shooting the restaurant employee, investigators determined through the girlfriend that McClain had returned home after the robbery and admitted to her that he took part in the crime and shot the worker. McClain is now charged with capital murder and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday.Another employee inside the restaurant at the time of the robbery was not hurt.Investigators are asking anyone with additional information about this case to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-8477 (TIPS).
