I was pretty tired of the uncertainty I’ve been hearing about Houston power attorney Ben Hall. Some people say he’s running while others say isn’t be because he hasn’t officially announced. Well, The Insite decided to call Hall Wednesday night to straighten out the record. Well after a 10 minute conversation I’m not quite sure if I know if he’s running or not. Mr. Hall said, “I am running for Mayor.” But then he said he hasn’t officially announced the bid just yet. He said he wanted to talk with some people before he takes that next step which means he has yet to file the paperwork to make it official. I also asked Hall what is he going to do about the residency issue. Those in the political world say he doesn’t live within the city limits of Houston. Politicos say that’s a requirement if you’re going to seek the office of the city’s top spot…you must live within the boundaries for at least 12 months. Hall said he has attorneys working on that and it’s a non-issue to him. He went to say that won’t be a problem and it was something created in the blogosphere by the media. So, I went a step further to ask if he lives within the city. He said he didn’t want to get into legal issues but he assured me I’d be the first to know when his legal team clears up the matter. So, there you have it I think. Ben Hall says he is absolutely running for Mayor of Houston but he hasn’t announced it officially just yet. Stay tuned to the official word and more on the residency issue!
