A group of residents in southeast Houston has had enough. Those who call Griggs Terrace home have filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against a waste treatment facility.
The lawsuit alleges CES Environmental Services, Inc. is negligent and has put their health in jeopardy as a result of caustic, toxic, and nauseous odors, gases, vapors and other matter being dumped on the company’s property.
The residents are seeking $25 million in the lawsuit they filed with the courts. Chales Jones has lived just off Griggs Road since 1989. He says he was there before CES and he wants the company to either clean up its act or move out.
Just next door to Jones lives Paula Smith. The 5-year resident says she’d like to see the company move out as well.
Smith says she’s suffering from respiratory problems as a result of the odors from the plant.
Fox 26 News called the attorney representing CES in this lawsuit, but he did not return the call. Houston Attorney Ben Hall is representing the residents from southeast Houston.
