INSITE AND FOX 26 EXCLUSIVE: WHERE IS MY W-2?

OFFICERS SAY THEY’RE FILING COMPLAINTS WITH THE IRS!

The Insite has learned more than half of the police officers on the streets of Houston are upset tonight. Those officers haven’t received their W-2 forms from the city of Houston. Federal law requires employers with a certain amount of employees to have W-2’s in their workers hands by January 31. I’ve learned there was a computer problem at the city of Houston last Thursday that resulted in more than 3,000 police officers not getting their W-2’s. Alfred Moran with the city’s Administration department says his staff is working around the clock to get the officers their W-2 forms. What kind of time line are we talking about for the new W-2’s? Moran says he hopes to have all 3,000 officers with their tax documents by Monday. The department head also acknowledges other city workers have not received their forms but Moran says it’s a small group compared to HPD. Some Houston police officers tell the Insite they’ve already filed complaints with the Internal Revenue Service. Complaints Moran says he’s not aware of at this point. The Insite will keep you updated on this issue!
