ERNIE WILL TACKLE THE TOUGH ISSUES AFFECTING YOU THIS FRIDAY ON HOUSTON’S PBS!

MAKE SURE YOU TUNE IN TO HEAR THE LATEST!

With the passing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, two HoustonPBS locally produced shows will focus on this issue this Friday evening . At 8:00 P.M. on the new, current affairs program Houston 8, Ernie Manouse will lead a panel through a discussion of the recently passed U.S. stimulus package and how it will affect those living in the Houston region. The panel will take a closer look at how the bill will affect employment, the housing market and access to health care . They will also explore what new opportunities Houston will see and question if this will actually turn the tide of recession or if there is still more to be done.

Immediately after Houston 8, at 8:30 P.M on Friday night, HoustonPBS will present a special episode of InnerVIEWS with Ernie Manouse. Manouse’s guest for the full half hour will be chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA). Frank speaks of his youth, personal challenges, government service and the economic woes of the nation. Manouse also discusses Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and asks the Congressman if we are on the right path to fix them.

Houston 8, which airs Fridays at 8:00 P.M and Sundays at 5:30 P.M., focuses on current events and news stories, and how they affect those living in the Houston region.

InnerVIEWS with Ernie Manouse, which airs Thursdays at 10 :00 P.M and Sundays at 2:30 P.M, provides an in-depth interview with a single celebrity or newsmaker, and looks at where they came from, how they got here, what they accomplished, and the things they learned along the way.
