Faith leaders from across the country will come together this Thursday, just days after 160 prayer vigils took place nationwide, to call for immigration renewal and action and announce plans for faith community Congressional visits. The press call and events are part of a national movement to mobilize people of faith and call on President Obama and Members of Congress to enact humane immigration reform.
Leaders will urge the Administration to bring humanity and compassion back into the public dialogue. Immigrant families and workers are living in a state of fear, constantly worrying about the next raid that would rip parents and children apart, or how the increasing anti-immigrant sentiment will impact their families. Now is the time to restore dignity and respect to all families and communities.
