Congressman Al Green (9th District Texas) will host a housing foreclosure prevention seminar to help Houston residents learn how to take the first steps to avoid losing their homes. Representatives from financial institutions such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo, as well as the Department of Housing and Urban Development will provide direct counseling regarding loan modification, refinancing services, Federal foreclosure prevention programs and Federal Assistance Housing.

Specifically in Texas, 1 in 35 homeowners will likely experience foreclosure in the next two years, according to the Pew Charitable Trusts.
