I am Kenneth Perkins a candidate for Houston City Council at Large Position #1. The reason why I am running for Houston City Council at Large Position #1 is because growing up in Houston I have gained an insider’s perspective on the problems facing our city. I’ve watched the decline of the communities. I’ve seen businesses and industries moved in and moved out. Crime is on the rise: attacks on residents, churches, worship places and businesses vandalized, in our community and little action is being taken until election time.
I have great concern about the crime in our communities. Since 1982, I have been in Law Enforcement; therefore I know what “We Need Now” for the safety of our communities.
We can’t afford to wait for on the job training; we need experience now to fight real crime and deal with real problems. For the past 27 years I have worked long hours to protect and defend the safety of all Houstonians. When Hurricane Katrina and Rita hit, I was there protecting you and your love ones while others ran for cover. Now, I need your support to protect and defend the interests of our great city. Greater ideas and actions can make it happen. I, Kenneth Perkins, will be your voice at
*Be responsible, accessible and accountable to all residents, especially senior citizen who are our resources of experience and wisdom.
*Improve quality of life through innovative programs to strengthen the community, enabling residents to enjoy safer neighborhoods.
*Create opportunities, for those who seek and opportunity for self-improvement, thereby improving family life for all constituents.
I am soliciting your support to elect me to Houston City Council- At Large Position #1
