Until I got to the checkout counter at Walmart in the Woodlands I really didn’t notice anything different. Then as I was preparing to leave with my bag the clerk told me I had to wait. She held on to the DVD movie I’d just purchased. It was the new Transformers movie. But I wanted to know why I couldn’t have my movie. She said it had to be taken out of this heavy duty security case. A case I didn’t initially noticed. Then after about a minute a manager came with a special key. She unlocked the security device and I could’ve been on my way. But I wanted to know why they needed the special cases when many of the movies already come with a smaller security device. The clerk told me thieves come into the store and take the Blu-Ray movies into the restroom. They tear open the packaging, ditch the security device, stuff the movie in their pants or purse and they’re out the door. That worker says they were loosing on the average 20 to 25 movies a day. That’s a lot of inventory. Just your average day at Walmart and why Blu-Ray movies are flying off the shelves!
