CONGRESSIONAL BRIEFING IN HOUSTON ON H1N1!

THE NEEDS OF TEXAS WHEN IT COMES TO THE SWINE FLU!

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee held a Congressional Briefing to address the deadly killer H1N1 this morning at Houston’s City Hall. In 2009 alone more than 50 people have died in Texas as a result of the illness also known as swine flu.

Health officials say the virus began appearing around the country back in April. Nationwide more than 1000 people have died as a result of H1N1.

Jackson Lee says the Congressional Briefing is to get information out to the public. She went on to say she wants “to hear what is and to hear what is not.”

Another factor of the briefing – the needs in Texas. Federal health officials say as of Friday there have been 831,000 doses H1N1 vaccines shipped to Texas.

The hearing has a long list of medical experts from Texas and around the country addressing the illness that Jackson Lee now calls a pandemic.

Congressmen Gene Green and Henry Cueller are also participating in the briefing!
