I thought there was a huge mistake being made on KCOH AM radio Wednesday morning. I decided to listen in during my drive to work. What stood out was Bishop James Dixon. He was endorsing Peter Brown for Mayor in a radio ad. What caught my attention was the commercial played over and over again. Three times it aired back to back. Then I heard Wash Allen say welcome to the Peter Brown half hour. I knew Brown didn’t become a talk show host and dumped his aspirations for Mayor. Then it all became clear. Instead of a single radio commercial Brown bought out the entire half hour on KCOH. It was like his own infomercial. The show was hosted by Latricia Williams and one of the guest was J’caryous Johnson. The Houston playwright spent about 5 minutes explaining why he supported Peter Brown. I didn’t hear the entire program so I’m not sure if Brown made an appearance himself. This is a prime example of having the funds to run a political race. How many candidates do you know have bought out a whole half hour to promote themselves?
