FROM HPD: Rush hour commuters and fans attending tonight’s Texans’ game at Reliant Stadium are encouraged to avoid traveling on South Main Street (Highway 90) where workers are cleaning up a train derailment near Stella Link that forced closure of all north and southbound lanes on
All northbound lanes on South Main just reopened a short time ago.
However, all southbound lanes on South Main remain closed from Stella Link to South Post Oak Road. Houston police officers on the scene are being told only two of four southbound (outbound) lanes are likely to be reopened sometime in the 4 o’clock hour.
As a result, HPD encourages motorists to not travel on Highway 90 south to get home or to the football game, and instead use Highways 288 and 59 South to the 610 South Loop.
