PETER BROWN IS GOING AFTER GENE LOCKE’S CAMPAIGN SIGNS!

BROWN: THESE BANDIT SIGNS COULD CAUSE UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS!

The back and forth just won’t stop in the race for Houston’s City Hall. The latest shot has been fired by former Mayoral candidate Peter Brown. He has written letters to Mayor Bill White complaining about what he calls bandit signs. Brown says those signs have been illegally placed on freeways and bridges by the Gene Locke campaign. The City Councilman says he wants the city to investigate the matter and fine Locke if necessary because it makes for unsafe driving conditions for Houstonians. Brown, who has publicly endorsed Annise Parker in the race for Mayor, says Locke has violated a city ordinance by placing the bright orange campaign signs in places not allowed. Brown says, “we’re at a point where going to consider issuing citations.” The Insite is awaiting a response from the Locke campaign!

Gene Locke Responds:

“Gene has very enthusiastic volunteers. So does Annise Parker. Both campaign have supporters who have placed campaign signs where they shouldn’t be. I can’t speak for the Parker campaign (whose signs have been seen being picked up by the City of Houston) but as soon as we are aware of a Locke sign placed in an inappropriate spot, we pick it up.”
