SHOULD THE MAN BE CHARGED WITH FILING A FALSE REPORT?

AMBER ALERT WAS A FALSE ALARM!

An Amber Alert has been canceled for a six year old boy. Kevin Williams was reportedly sleeping in the backseat of his uncle’s car when two armed suspects forced the uncle out of the car. A spokesperson with the Houston Police Department said that the man lied about his nephew being abducted in order to get his car back sooner. The original Amber Alert was activated Sunday morning after the uncle reported that he was carjacked at the Walgreens in the 7700 block of Bellaire Boulevard. The vehicle has not been recovered by HPD at the time of the cancellation. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office and HPD will be meeting to discuss whether or not to file charges against the man for filing a false police report.
