A former Houston city councilwoman is getting a promotion from Mayor Annise Parker as the interim director of the housing department, sources tell FOX 26.
FOX 26 News learned of the decision on Thursday to name Ada Edwards the interim director of the city’s troubled housing department. The current director, Richard Celly, announced his resignation two weeks ago.
Mayor Parker says Edwards has a wealth of experience on housing issues.
A search for a permanent director is underway.
