HPD INVESTIGATORS TURN THEIR ATTENTION TO JONATHAN HUNTER!

WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOOTING OF 3 YEAR OLD GIRL!

Police are asking for help from the public to find a second suspect wanted in questioning for the fatal shooting of a 3-year-old girl during a carjacking attempt.

Johnathan Hunter, 19, also known as Johnathan Barnes, has not been charged in the murder of Charissa Powell.

A capital murder charge was filed against Alton Charles Barnes, 24, who was held without bond on Thursday at the Harris County Jail. He was taken into police custody on Tuesday.

Police say that Powell was shot and killed when two men attempted to carjack her father at the Live Oak Bend Apartments on Sunday afternoon.

Powell’s younger brother was also injured by bullet fragments during the shooting.

Police say the parents and the children were in their vehicle, at an apartment complex, when they allegedly were targeted for the car’s expensive custom rims.

MAYOR ANNISE PARKER INVITES THE PRESIDENT TO HOUSTON!

DO YOU THINK HE WILL ACCEPT THE INVITATION?

Mayor Annise Parker has sent President Obama a formal invitation to visit Johnson Space Center. The invite is part of ongoing efforts to convince the Obama Administration to reconsider its proposal to end the Constellation manned space flight program.


In this latest letter to the president, Mayor Parker writes, “I know you recognize the personnel who work directly or indirectly with JSC are a highly talented group, but nothing compares to meeting these brilliant individuals where their incredible work is done. You will not leave JSC and the Clear Lake area without being impressed with their skill-set and contribution to national security and technological advancement.”

The invitation follows the mayor’s recent meeting with numerous top Obama Administration officials, including Senior White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett and NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. Despite those meetings, the mayor left Washington “still very concerned with the new and untested direction of the American human space exploration program being proposed in the FY2011 NASA budget.” She believes the Constellation program would help the JSC workforce transition effectively as the space shuttle is retired from active service once the International Space Station is completed next year. Without Constellation, Houston stands to lose anywhere from 4,000 to 7,000 high-tech jobs. The impact to the region is estimated to be $560 million.


President Obama is already scheduled to visit Kennedy’s Space Center in Florida. The mayor believes a visit to JSC is imperative if the president is to get a full understanding of the impact of his proposal.

WHAT ONE MAN IS SAYING ABOUT THE HEALTH CARE BILL!

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.

The irony is that the Congress doesn’t have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide…

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn’t work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn’t stop there though.

The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;

The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights… Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to “be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution.” If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

THE DNA TEST RESULTS ARE IN FOR MATHEW KNOWLES!

DNA test results have confirmed that Beyoncé‘s father, Mathew Knowles, is also the father of a child born to his former mistress.

Alexsandra Wright filed a paternity suit against Knowles after their 18-month affair ended when she became pregnant back in October. According to recent reports from TMZ, Knowles was ordered to pay $8,200 a month in child supportwhile they waited for the results of the test.

The child, Nixon Wright, was born on February 4.

In other news, Beyoncé and her husband,Jay-Z, have reportedly received an apology from German magazine Neon, after one of its writers allegedly falsified an interview with the “Single Ladies” singer.

In the alleged interview, writer Ingo Mocek wrote that Beyoncé claimed to have a “marriage contract” with Jay-Z and revealed intimate details about their future together. After looking into the statements, however, editors discovered that Mocek could not substantiate the claims and consequently pulled the story and fired him.

“We assume that the interview did not take place as claimed,” Neon‘s editors wrote in an official statement. “We sincerely apologize to Ms. Knowles and her management for all personal inconvenience that may have arisen due to the publication of this interview.”

Borris Miles‘ victory in the March 2010 Democratic Primary for State House District 146 has been confirmed by an official recount. The recount, conducted today by the Harris County Democratic Party with assistance from the Harris County Clerk’s Office, upheld Miles‘ victory by 8 votes out of 10,788 ballots cast.


“I am grateful that due process was followed, and that the election result has been finalized,” Miles said. “I thank those from the Harris County Democratic Party and County Clerk’s Office for their hard work and dedication during this recount. Most of all, I thank the people of District 146 for the opportunity to serve them in Austin. I look forward to getting to work on their behalf.”

Update: The Insite hears after a recount current State Representative Al Edwards says he’s still not giving up. He plans to challenge the count again!


THEY GAVE ME AN OFFER I COULD NOT REFUSE!

MOVING ON AFTER 22 YEARS WITH THE CITY OF HOUSTON!

The Insite finally caught up with General Services Director Issa Dadoush. The city of Houston department head tells the Insite he has been extremely under the weather but he’s feeling better now.

Dadoush confirmed his resignation from the city as we first reported last week. He says his last day will be April 23.
The recent MBA graduate says he’s now taking a job with the Houston Independent School District. Specifically, he will serve as General Manager over Facilities Services.
Dadoush says after 22 years with the city of Houston it was a tough decision to leave. He says, “I love Houston but this was an offer I could not turn down.”
Dadoush will quit the city on that Friday and will begin a new job that Monday and he tells the Insite he will truly miss all of the people he has come to know while working at the COH over the last two decades!

CONTRADICTING INFORMATION FROM MAYOR ANNISE PARKER’S OFFICE!

I’VE PICKED A CHIEF – NO, SHE HASN’T PICKED A CHIEF – YOU FIGURE IT OUT!

On Monday Mayor Annise Parker went before the Greater Houston Partnership and announced to the group she had found her candidate to run the Houston Police Department. She also reportedly said it would be announced by the end of the week. Reporters went wild and started digging.

The local newspaper on Tuesday reported Parker had chosen Acting Police Chief Charles McClelland to head the department. Not wanting to be left in the dust I did what most journalists do – I called the Mayor’s Communications Director who contradicted the Mayor saying a firm choice had not been made.
Janice Evans tells the Insite there is a short list (which means more than one candidate) and Mayor Parker would make the announcement at the end of the month and not the end of the week.
On Tuesday Parker then proclaimed during the Tuesday Council session there were a lot of rumors flying. But she never once denied her choice for HPD Police Chief was McClelland. Parker also did not come out and say those rumors were absolutely false.
So, am I the only one seeing contradicting information from the Mayor’s office.
If it is McClelland as so many of my sources say then this is the worst kept secret in the city and disturbing because the Mayor’s office has intentionally mislead the press.

EVANS: THE MAYOR HAS A SHORT LIST BUT NO FINAL DECISION HAS BEEN MADE ON POLICE CHIEF!

IS THIS THE NEW TOP COP AT THE HOUSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT?

The Houston Chronicle reported that Assistant Chief Charles McClelland could be the next police chief at the Houston Police Department. The Chronicle quote sources as saying Mayor Annise Parker is poised to select McClelland as her next chief pending final review. The Insite called Mayor Parker’s communications director Janice Evans who said a decision has not been made. She says Parker has a short list and will not make any announcements until the end of the month. But I wonder if that cat is already out of the bag?
