The teenager who says he was beaten by Houston police officers testified before the Harris County grand jury Monday.
His testimony has been expected for months now.
15-year-old Chad Holley answered questions for the grand jury for about an hour. He left the closed door meeting with his mother Joyce Holley and his attorney Wilvin Carter.
“They’re tired. They feel like victims. They just really want it behind them” says Carter.
The grand jury has now listened to all the evidence and is deciding if the eight Houston police officers should be indicted.
Those officers were allegedly caught on tape beating up that 15-year-old who was a burglary suspect. The whole thing was captured by a storage company’s surveillance camera.
The tape that allegedly shows the 15-year-old handcuffed and being beaten by Houston police officers hasn’t been made public. The video also allegedly shows officers high-fiving one another afterward.
After the tape surfaced eight Houston police officers were placed on payed administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The grand jury is expected to announce it’s decision Wednesday.
