1988 was the year the Insite graduated from high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
But ’88 was also the same year we elected a new Governor in Cajun Country.
He was Buddy Roemer.
The former Louisiana Democrat who turned Republican stunned many who said he couldn’t win in Edwin Edwards’ country.
But Roemer did.
Now, the former John Mccain Presidency supporter says he wants to defy the odds again in 2012.
Roemer announced he has formed an exploratory committee to run for President of the United States.
The former US congressman made it clear it wad a job he’s interested in having in his late 60’s.
Roemer was a one term Governor in Louisiana!Democrat

Charles Elson “Buddy” Roemer, III (born October 4, 1943) was the 52nd Governor of Louisiana, having served from 1988 to 1992. He was elected as a Democrat but switched to the Republican Party on March 11, 1991.  Prior to becoming the Governor, he was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1981 to 1988.
