The Insite hears a large group of contract workers got their walking papers this morning at the Johnson Space Center.
One worker says at least 20+ people were let go.
This transition by the space agency is not a surprise to those in the industry.
Since the federal government decided to cut back on manned space missions it was assumed NASA would see some significant downsizing.
The companies we hear that are involved in the contract are MEI Technologies, DB Consulting, and Wyle Labs.
So far the Insite has not been able to reach officials for a comment today.
