There’s a huge soccer tournament this weekend to support and remember the victim of murder. That man is Louis Ernesto Lopera. It will be held this Saturday. His wife wrote me a letter to try and get the public involved. Here is that letter from Maxine Garcia:
On New Years Eve my husband Louis Ernesto Lopera was murdered in front of me, my five-year old daughter Sofia, and my father-in-law. My daughter’s father Louis Armando Rojas had come to our house premeditating to kill my husband. Rojas parents, who live in Katy, claim to have no knowledge of his whereabouts. The community, my family and I seek to keep my husband’s story alive until justice is served. My husband was heavily involved in the soccer community. He refereed soccer games of all ages and was an active member of Texas United Futbol Club. In honor of my husband Texas United United Futbol Club has created the
Louis Lopera Memorial Tournament Saturday, February 18th from 9am to 5pm in hopes of raising money for Sofia and I. All proceeds will be donated to us. Any one who is attending the tournament as far as referees, staff and police are completely volunteering their time to be there. At 12pm there will be a moment of silence with a balloon release. My brother-in-law Alex Lopera and I are pushing very hard for America’s Most Wanted to air our story because they are nationwide. Louis Armando Rojas does have family in Kenner, Louisiana as well as in El Salvidar. A good friend of my brother in law who did some video-production work was kind enough to fly down a few weeks back to help film various interviews of people who where friends, family and coworkers of my husband. Along with that video we have began to collect signatures in the form of a petition asking that America’s Most Wanted to carry his story. As it stand now my daughter and I are living in daily fear that Louis Armando Rojas may return to finish the job he started. Louis immediate family along with his co-workers, friends, and those who have been affected from his loss demand justice and we are doing everything we can to present his story in a compelling way that America’s Most Wanted will see the need in producing a reenactment of what happened.
Maxine, this is Robert the building manager where you worked for Dr. Ron Ritsco. I am so very sorry about what happened. When I read it in the paper, I was simply shocked. He WILL mess up and get caught, they always do, it may take some time. I can’t imagine what you must be going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you! Your friend, Robert Lambert.

Thank you so much for comment. My family and I are devastated but we won’t sleep until he is caught. America’s Most Wanted will air our story probably in late April. I will keep you posted. I miss you and my old work crew. I’ll be in touch.
