I was at the Macy’s when some workers at the store were peeking into a back storage room of the men’s department. I immediately asked what was going on.
One employee said for the last 24 hours they’ve been trying to catch a runaway bird.
Apparently, the bird escaped from the nearby pet store in the Woodlands Mall.
Workers from that store who specialize in animals couldn’t catch it either.
So, I pulled out my trusty camera and started rolling.
Sure enough the absconded bird made an appearance.
I’m told it’s likely a zebra finch.
The retail value of the bird according to Google is about $20.
I guess the pet store won’t sweat over this one but the flying creature may become a bit irritating to those who are shopping in the men’s department at Macy’s with all that chirping through the day!
