This is a photo that’s making the rounds on social media. Mainly, because of the Trayvon Martin case. I don’t know why so many people were stopped by HPD. Maybe worth looking into!
From the person who snapped this picture: Ronda Harrison- I wish I knew the whole story. I saw two HPD cars and officers at Karl Young park on Stella Link. Across Stella Link, one block south of the park, there were two more cars and more officers (the photos) with Pershing Middle School kids lined up along the fence, patting them down. I only witnessed about 3 minutes of this while sitting at the light. All of the kds in the photo were sent on their way afterwards. I was disturbed because of the ages of the kids, not to mention the kids were black. That’s it. If you find out what preceded this, please update me. Thanks IC.
Additionally IC, the second photo (if it was sent to you), shows an officer patting down one of the kids…. Wonder if there were any female officers for the young girls present….hmmmm More importantly, was the Police Supervisor present and who, if anyone, notified the parents?
