REMEMBER THE MYTH APPLE PRODUCTS CAN’T GET A VIRUS? PSYCH!

Surprisingly, the very popular company Apple kicked off a new security program this week that will fill a hole in the Java program.

According to computer pros –  owners of Mac could be exposed to malware or malicious programs.

Researchers in Russia say this is nothing new.

They claim at least 600,000 Macs have been infected despite the claims the operating system can not be infected by a virus.

Those researchers say Mac is vulnerable to the Flashback Trojan, which can turn the computer into what they  call a computer bot.

The Insite is not quite sure what a computer bot is at this point but I will Google it.

Here’s more info from USA Today that could help Mac users.

I don’t have that problem because I’m strictly PC and Android: patched the Java flaw (hat tip to The Verge & security firm F-Secure has details on how to diagnose and fix the problem.

The attacks on Mac computers don’t come as a surprise to anti-virus firm McAfee, which warns users to stay vigilant by staying up to date on security software and Apple patches.

Some students at Lamar High School have claimed there have been riots on the campus today.

They sent out tweets saying it’s crazy at the River Oaks area school.
Some adults at the school also claim the campus was in chaos.

But officials from HISD sent out this tweet denying the claim even though students have posted video of the fights on Youtube today.

Here’s what HISD tweeted:

HOUSTON ISD ON TWITTER

* Reports of a riot at Lamar High School are false. Some students made these claims as part of a misguided prank. 1 hour ago

HISD STATEMENT: Several students at Lamar High School pulled a “senior prank” today by throwing paper balls at classmates and running through the halls. Many students also used social media and text messages to report that a riot was occurring on campus in an apparent attempt to create a disruption so that officials would cancel classes for the rest of the day. Order has been restored and classes are back to normal. The incident will be handled as a disciplinary matter. There were no injuries and no arrests.

XXXX XXXX took the above photo and writes: This is during third period. When I was looking out the window at all the commotion. This is when the administrators were trying to take control of the situation and all the students began to run and scream in a large group while some ran in terror.

From Insite reader: This is such a lie. I was there. Mcswain lied to Hisd who then turned around and lied to you. This “cover up” will be unsuccessful and the truth will come out. The riot was real. It was NOT a senior prank and further more, there were many acts of violence today. This entire story is one big fabricated lie.

Comment #2: The riots at Lamar were most definitely not a “senior prank”. A series of fights occurred and large groups of people sprinting around the campus ensued. Several assistant principals were hit with fists or fruit when they tried to stop the large group of people (well over 1,000 kids).
