The Insite has learned the Houston Police Department is realigning it’s helicopter division.  That move has prompted concern over at the Houston Police Officers’ Union.  Ray Hunt, President of HPOU, says this could affect the department’s ability to fight crime on the streets of the Bayou City.

Hunt says he’s heard 3 pilots and 6 support workers are being transferred out of the division.  HPD’s helicopters are used all over the city in efforts ranging from high speed chases to drug enforcement.  A spokesperson with the police department would only confirm the division is being realigned by Keese Smith did not say how many officers were being moved!
