You’ve likely seen Donna Hawkins on television as the official spokesperson for the Harris County District Attorney. But the lawyer by trade is more than just focused on legal issues.
Donna, when off the clock, likes to spend a lot of time with some children who have a very special place in her heart. Those children are her pets named Beaux and Little Max.
These weren’t fancy dogs bought from some pet store but animals Hawkins took in after they were rescued from some very horrific conditions.
Beaux, the largest of the two dogs, was rescued from the Corridor of Cruelty back in March of 2009. Max, the smaller dog, was welcomed into Donna’s family after being saved from a kill shelter only days before Beaux in 2009.
Even when Donna writes about her pets you can feel the joy and pride she has for the little ones she now calls her own. Donna says, “it’s so hard to believe someone would kill this cutie.” Cuties she now call her own children.
Way to go Donna because you’ve saved some very small precious lives!
