Nissan Titan hit by falling concrete under highway 59

Take a look at this picture the Insite obtained Wednesday night.  It’s a pick up truck owned by a hard working Houston Police officer.  The Nissan Titan was slammed by pieces of concrete.  That heavy material fell from under highway 59 at Rusk.  It’s in an area where Houston police officers park their personal vehicles while working on duty out the substation located at the George R. Brown Convention Center.  One HPD officer says they’re lucky no one was standing under the freeway when the concrete fell or they would be dead.  I’m told the chunk that crashed into the truck is at least a foot long, 8 inches wide and who knows how heavy.  It’s likely time for the state highway department to inspect and make repairs to 59 at Rusk.  Be very careful out there guys because chunks of concrete are falling!
