They’re likely the most dedicated Houston Dynamo fans in the city of Houston and they say they’re being mistreated by the sports organization.
Members of El Batallon have been faithful followers of the Dynamo since 2006.
But Martin Flores says things are progressively getting worst.
They say at a recent game at the new BBVA Compass stadium one of their members was arrested for allegedly asking a Houston Police Officer a question.
Alex Sosa says he is and always will be a Dynamo fan but he wants respect from the organization.
The group that’s traveling with the team from Los Angeles to Chicago say there are too many voices of authority at the new stadium and no one to show them loyalty like they do with the team.
Members of the 100+ strong group say they would like to meet with officials with the Dynamo to come to some type of an agreement.
Flores says they’re a different type of fan base and everyone may not understand their behavior but they don’t deserve to be thrown in jail.
The Insite is hoping to get a response from the Dynamo reps by Tuesday!
UPDATE: Lester Gretsch with the Houston Dynamo contacted the Factor tonight. He says he simply can’t make a comment on the issue with El Batallon at the moment. We will keep you updated when they do make a statement on this issue!

Ok first of all its Dynamo, not Dynamos! you don’t pluralize it.
Second, I understand that they are fanaticos and all but its not like this is the only incident, they’re constantly getting into run-ins with authorities and not because they aren’t respected or they organization is out to get them: its because they act like a bunch of high school kids drinking beer for the first time! back at Robertson they were always the ones who were getting in trouble while their friends were trying to calm things down with a beer or two in hand. ive had beer thrown on me because I was in the crossfire of opposing fans(hello beer is expensive at sporting events!!) and they are the ones who are constantly taking the trash talking too far. Even at BBVA you can see them slinging beer around like a bunch of ‘tards. I try to support all supporters groups but its hard when some of the groups can’t act right.
The team’s name is “Dynamo”, no “S” at the end of it.
Then don’t act like outcast! As a ST holder since 2006′, it’s embarrassing to see how they act!, How about a united front to cheer the Dynamo instead of having an agenda. It’s gotten to the point that most of the chants followed by the stadium are started by a small group on the east side. It’s gotten ridiculous that the supporters section can’t even do a chant without trying to out do each other.
Good riddance if you can’t stay at support our team
I am not challange ur comment but can I ask you if you think its okay for a loyal fan to be tased ??
if you’re drunk and acting a fool…yes. I’m not saying thats the case here or not b/c we all know that HPD are A-holes too, but my impression of the EB is usually a bunch of guys who don’t know when to stop drinking, and thats when it ruins the experience for some people.
No one was tased. If you see the video Police Officers were hands on and that rules out tasing because the Officers would have been affected as well. Don’t believe every story you hear and the video is clear enough that people were just saying “don’t tase” not that the suspect was tased.
We have done our part there will be good and bad times. We don’t deny the bad times. We are here and have been her since day one we have done more good than bad. You are not in the new bbva situation where we sit. We don’t expect special treatment just fair we have received our accountability and understand rules. We didn’t divide ourselves the other supporters think a shirt and flag define a supporter. Maybe at a texans game and Astros game but not in soccer. We aren’t perfect just want to be respected as much as we give it out.
People fear what they don’t understand. The FO has threatened us with all the cameras they have pointed at our section, well then use them to prove that we’re in the wrong. Show us that we are standing in the aisles and concourses even though we fit in the section they have confined us to. Show us that we threw a smokebomb that they are blaming on us from the May 15th game. A smokebomb that was thrown at the end of the match, the match we walked out of in the 82nd minute because we felt unsafe. Show us you throwing other people out for taking their shirts off in a 90 degree+ weather day. Show us you throwing you other people out for horseplay. Show us you telling other people they can’t wear masks or bandanas over their faces. Show us that we deserve to be tased/stun gunned while handcuffed and not resisting arrest. Show us that the we deserve to be treated this way. Just take one look at how we are surrounded by HPD/BBVA security/5star, and no one else is. We’ve done nothing wrong, illegal, or against stadium policies at the new stadium. Every time they have told us to do something we have complied imidiately. I’ll patiently wait.
Purhaps you should remove the rose colored glasses. Nothing wrong?! First the cameras are in place for everyone, not a threat to anyone or any group. Its a safety issue. You are surrounded by security because past behavior is an indicator of future action and your past behavior has been less than stellar. Security is distributed throughout the stadium and can respond as needed. The same rules apply to all in the stadium, and when your group misbehaves the organization denies, denies, denies involvement and refuses to cooperate in identifying who is responsible. If you are not misbehaving then help the FO get rid of those who are tarnishing your “image”. As for “People fear what they don’t understand” they understand, they just won’t tolerate it anymore and if in truth you just want to support the team, you should have come to the table when you were invited not now complaining about being mistreated. Your groups actions/behaviors = the response put in place at BBVA.
chris that’s you brother the walkers end presiden its ovious you would say that.
Actually, in defense of chris @ walker east end, not him simply name coincidence. . . EB act right and those camera aren’t pointed your way, act right and the cops won’t pick on you as you claim, act right and you won’t feel picked on, act right and the Dynamo will have the strong supporters section that they deserve!
Chris, please give me examples of us not acting right? And I mean specifically and not something from seasons past. We’ve had three games at this stadium and have had issues all three games. I ask you to please tell me why, or have the Dynamo show us why since they have all these cameras pointed at us.
Ok well chris your out of line let me give you a red card. Now you have to do 5 hrs community for saying a curse word. You really think that’s supposed to happen in a supporter group. Oh and pay your dues. Or you cant chant with us
Translation – Brown nose and those cameras will not point your way, brown nose and the cops would not attack you, brown nose and you won’t be singled out…
thats the walkers end for you .. red card..
Guys, this has nothing to do with walker end. They didn’t throw the cops at us, they didn’t confine us to a section, they didn’t tase our people. Leave that argument for another day. This is about the front office. This is about security personal. This is about HPD going veroard tasing a young man while handcuffed and not resisting arrest. That’s what this is about.
Obviously chris here doesn’t understand that most of us come from latin america were the soccer culture is huge were soccer fans and supporter groups are used to singing and jumping around and give everything they have out of love to the team and the jersey. but people here in the states dont understand because there used to just sitting down and watching the game or like the TA people that just stand there like statues with no emotion in there face. but hey chris you’ll never know or understand what its like or the feeling of a true soccer fan. and all those people at walker end are just worried about there image and how good they come out in that picture in the newspaper they have no love for the team or the sport. and that thing about throwing beer well thats just a reaction of joy when the team scores a goal what do you expect us to just stand there and clap our hands
EB actions in the past have defined who they are. When you dig yourself a hole, you have to climb your way out. You don’t have to be obnoxious to be a “supporter”! The stadium is FULL of Dynamo supporters! I’ve been a season ticket holder for years and I consider myself a supporter, as Im sure many others do too. The rules have been printed out in black and white. As a “supporters group”, you should not have the right to bend the rules to your liking. The rules are in place for all to follow, not some! Suck it up, act like adults and follow the rules. Quit trying to make yourselves out to be victims.
This post is way off base. You don’t know how anyone else feels or how much they care about soccer. Ridiculous statement.
I was fortunate to attend a recent Dynamo match and loved the excitement the supporters were giving. I did what I could to make it down to get in the mix of true fans. I had a great time.No issues just lots of fun. It was boring to sit where I was before with people concerned about what’s for dinner than the match. US does not understand the true culture of the sport. Maybe one day they will and the supporters are doibg their part to bring passion.
TA and LB false supporters they just care about looks and the money they resive. Oh yeah let me send u to the US game,we don’t need money or an agreement with media to show only TA on pictures. Y’all not an independent supporter group no more.
there you go… talking about the past againg. Can you please read again so you can understand what are we discussing here. We have been doing GREAT but don’t matter what the BBVA staff finds an excuse to f@^€ with us.
For the past to games i saw the most disrespected things done to this people, im not a part of any group but this has me thinking. Wht is the FO doing this to them, dont they see that this is a law suit waiting to happen. I myself im a lawyer, i told my staff as we look from our “suits” this people are being treated like animals sourunded by police in one corner at 90 heat, while the other group is at a shade with less security and they are jumping up and down. I hope this gets settle before it gets ugly.

I won’t waste my time on the numerous failures of reasoning.
If you’re a lawyer then I’m Lionel Messi.
Truth is the issues EB has are of their own making. When Dynamo reps sought their buy-in with the rules and behavior the MLS wanted in place, EB refused to come to the table. EB has been responsible for smoke bombs, unruley behavior, fights, fire damage at the LA Galaxy’s stadium The Home Depot Center, and damage to the benches set in place for the supporter groups at BBVA Compass Stadium (BCS). No one is treating them like outcasts, they are making outcasts of themselves by refusing to behave in an appropriate manner. That is why they are banned from MLS stadiums this season and can only attend games as individuals not as a group. Twice they have chosen to leave the stadium in the second half not because they were asked to leave, but because instigators were removed for inappropriate or illegal behavior. These are not the actions of fans, these are the behaviors of hooligans (a la euro style) and there is no place for that in MLS or BBVA Compass Stadium. Too often they have been given lee-way and their behavior overlooked because they support our Dynamo. Maybe the status of “Supporter group” needs to be removed and they can buy seats and obey the rules set in place to protect everyone who enters BCS.
EB went to the table, didn’t see a reason to sign a charter written up by a different SG. A charter they claim is completely independent from the FO and MLS. TA/LB has also been responsible for smoke bombs, fights, the LA incident, and damage to benches. EB is not the only ones.
EB is not banned from any MLS stadium and can attend games as a group and has been. Don’t know where you’re getting any of this but I promise you that you are alone in thinking that.
We walked out against Portland because they tried to squeeze us into a section too small for the group. We had pregnant women in the section, one of them at nine months. We decided it was unsafe and left. The second game walkout was the LA game. We left because a member of our group was tased for asking a cop a question. He never assaulted the officer yet he was tased while handcuffed.
Again, I don’t know where you get your “facts” from, but they’re wrong.
there are security cameras at new stadium that have caught the group EB doing drugs in the stands, stealing other items from supporter groups (and like idiots, they posted pics of themselves standing next to stolen items and posted them on social media websites pretty much implicating themselves), starting fights, threatening peoples lives. Of course they are being targeted, hell they asked for it. The same type of issues and problems with this group alone has gone on for years. What complete idiots. They are there to support Dynamo – not act like idiots and an embarrassment to the League or City of Houston. I’m sure their mom’s must be so proud.
Nothing like anonymous accusations without any demonstration of facts for establishing credibility. Keep it up.
Seems to me like they will make any excuse to make it appear to be someone elses fault…
As far as the question that was asked, was it an innocent non-confrontational question? Or, was it derogatory and directed at the officer? Hmmm, seeing as how they admit to inappropiate comments and lack of respect for others, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it were the latter!
