Harris County Assistant District Attorney Belinda Smith says progress is being made to install cameras at the dump/massacre areas. A new billboard sponsored by the small group of volunteers fighting the dumping in the area just went up. The billboard is located on Business 90 between Sheldon Road and Champion Paper. We hope to inspire many people to take a look at the billboard to call attention to the area dumping problem and to also get help re-homing, vetting or reporting cruelty with our new “resources” section of our web site. Lastly — We are having a community awareness day with SNAP and Spay/Neuter and Micro-chipping event at the Kroger parking lot in Crosby on Tuesday June 5th. The spay and neuter event for people on public assistance will start at 7am with microchipping for everyone starting at 10 am and will last until 5pm. I have attached the flyer. It would be great to get the event mentioned in the news before it happens and also to have a news story done on the day of the event.
I am so horrified at the reports on what has been happening to those poor innocent dumped animals at the dump site.When I read about it I cried. What is wrong with human beings. I get alot of animal welfare news and am totally aware of the abuse, neglect, and intentional torture of animals, both domestic and wild all over the globe, but each set of incidents breaks my heart.
I am pleased there are people attempting to fight back in this case and that ideas and action are happening. I really hope some of the criminals , the deplorable people that have participated and/or are doing this to these innocent animals can be found and prosecuted in some fashion.
My heart is with those animals and the good people who are trying to help. Blessings to the spirits of those poor animals who have been wrongly and horribly murdered.
We MUST spay and neuter and we must educate our children that animals are to be care for, protected and respected.
