
The founding pastor of Cullen Missionary Baptist Church has died.
That man is Rev. Robert Jefferson.
Those close to the Louisiana native say he died Thursday morning while on a business trip to St. Louis, Missouri.
Jefferson has also been a longtime and outspoken member of Houston’s Ministers Against Crime.
The 70 year old’s cause of death has not been released.

Reverend Robert C. Jefferson, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the late James Mack Jefferson, Sr. and Lola Mae Hayes Jefferson. He is the proud father of four girls—Lola Denise Jefferson, Vanessa Jefferson Auguillard, Lisa Jefferson, and Robertine Jefferson. He has four grandchildren — LeKisha Hyman Jefferson Tate, Ronald Dale Jefferson, Jovonna Auguillard, Joseph Robert Auguillard and Charlette Aalyze Jefferson; and three great-grandchildren— Joshua White, Faith White, and DeShanae White.Pastor Jefferson accepted his calling into the gospel ministry in March 1976 and was ordained at Mount Horeb Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend Johnnie Jones. In March 1977, he founded Cullen Missionary Baptist Church and has faithfully served ever since. Pastor Jefferson is truly compassionate and committed when it comes to serving the Lord. His vision and mission to make life better for others through the Word of God has led him to take his ministry from beyond these four walls and out into the community, city, and the United States. He is the Founder/President of A Brand New City, Inc., Founder/President of Cullen Missionary Baptist Church Senior Citizens Ministry, Founder/President of Cullen Christian Child Development Center, and one of the founding members of Ministers Against Crime. He was also the founder of Sunnyside Up, Inc., a community development project. He currently serves as Second Vice President and the Director of Religious Affairs of the NAACP Houston BranchPastor Jefferson’ faith in God has kept him on the battlefield and he is Still Pressing On in the name of the Lord. In March of 2010, he married Sis. Myrtle Lewis, a long standing and devoted member of Cullen. We pray that God will continue to shower His richest blessings down upon him so that he can be the great leader that he has been called to be.

Pastor Jefferson one of the most caring and gentle pastors anyone would want to know, he has been such an inspired man of God to many in and out of many communities. May God bless him and his beautiful family.
