Gospel singer James Fortune is facing major turmoil this week. He was slapped with a civil lawsuit saying he brutally abused his stepson by beating the then 4 year old and holding him down in a tub of hot water. The child sustained burns to 47% of his body in 2001. According to the lawsuit Fortune’s stepson now requires plastic surgey at the age of 15 years old. But this legal action happened just days before Fortune and his group Fiya are up for a major award on the BET Awards in Los Angeles which airs July 1st.
