THE SMITHS NEED YOUR HELP TO TAKE DRUNK DRIVERS OFF THE ROADS IN TEXAS!

MARGARET AND PD SMITH STARTED THE DWI TRACKER PROGRAM WHEN THEIR DAUGHTER MEGHANN WAS HIT AND KILLED BY A DRUNK DRIVER!

The death and carnage in Montgomery County last weekend has enraged these Conroe parents for good reason.

Back in 2008, PD and Margaret Smith lost their daughter to a drunk driver. Meghann Smith wanted to be a police officer, but that dream was cut short for the 18-year-old.

After Meghann’s death, the couple created the DWI Tracker Patrol in Montgomery County, a civilian force of volunteers who track, video tape, and report drunk drivers to law enforcement officers. They have been successful helping prosecutors make 120 DWI cases.

The DWI Tracker program has been running the streets of Montgomery County for three years, but the Smiths don’t know how long it will last because they lack the funding to keep it going. That’s despite even the former Governor of Arkansas asking them to start a unit there.

The Smiths say their goal is to save lives from scenes like this, scenes that have become all too familiar in Montgomery County.
