Five people are behind bars in Harris County after investigators say they were part of an organized crime ring. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constables office says the five suspects broke into cars and stole wallets when they could. Detectives say the suspects would then check the wallets for credit cards. In one case last week the suspects allegedly stole a credit card and then checked into a hotel. That’s where they were arrested by deputies. Here’s the latest from investigators:
On June 30, 2012 at approximately 9:45 p.m., deputies with Precinct Four Constable Ron Hickman’s office responded to an in progress burglary of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the complainant stated they saw two unknown male suspect in their vehicle which was parked in front of their residence. The complainant and a witness went outside and began chasing the suspects as they fled from the scene. While checking the surrounding area both suspects were located and detained by responding deputies. The suspects were identified as Eric Heriberto Gamez, age 22 and Timothy Joseph Bacon, age 22 both from Houston, Texas. Both suspects were arrested and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and Gamez was also charged with Possession of Marijuana after it was found on his person. Both suspects were transported to the Harris County Jail where both suspects were later released, Gamez under $2,500.00 in Bonds and Bacon under a $1,000.00 bond.
