The Los Angeles Times caught up with a supporter/donor of presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney who gave a blockbuster quote.

The unidentified person was attending a fundraiser for Mr. Romney in the Hamptons when that person explained the common man just doesn’t felt it.

Here’s that quote:

A New York City donor a few cars back, who also would not give her name, said Romney needed to do a better job connecting. “I don’t think the common person is getting it,” she said from the passenger seat of a Range Rover stamped with East Hampton beach permits. “Nobody understands why Obama is hurting them.“We’ve got the message,” she added. “But my college kid, the baby sitters, the nails ladies — everybody who’s got the right to vote — they don’t understand what’s going on. I just think if you’re lower income — one, you’re not as educated, two, they don’t understand how it works, they don’t understand how the systems work, they don’t understand the impact.”

I am 61, I am not a nail lady nor a young college student. I am white (so no one can say I am defending my blackness)-(or- feeling white guilt) I have educated myself on issues. Most Americans have really strong beliefs and I would venture to say that 98% of the time they are based on false beliefs . Beliefs instilled “in the big lie” as Webster’s states: something that is said often enough and loud enough that people start to believe it. That is the whole MO of the Republicans party. It is the uneducated on isuues of current and recent history as well as Hooverism believers that scare me. It is the upper wealth bracket that feels that they are entitled to big tax breaks that without them our deficit would be a non issue! I am very proud and stand very strong with My President Barack Obama. I know he is fighting the fight for all those people who were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. AND I might add, I can remember when I was about 32 or so when RR was in office, my husband walked into our West University home in Houston and said”for every dollar I make over ? (can’t remember the amt) that the government wants half? at that time I was not interested but I will tell you that he bought me a pedigree diamond and a new car that year….in other words -paying higher taxes did not hurt him.!
