Before the arrest!

After the arrest – Mug shot!

The Factor has learned a Houston police officer has been behind bars for two days now after allegedly choking his girlfriend.  HPD confirms Senior Officer Alfonso Giraldo has been arrested.  The charge is assault of a family member / impeding breathing.  The veteran of the force was arrested by his own colleagues (HPD) on July 8th with no bond set according to court records. Documents from the clerk’s office show the 45 year old is accused of impeding the normal breath and circulation of someone he was dating.  Prosecutors say he applied pressure to the alleged victim’s neck.  In a case like this a spokesperson for HPD says the officer is relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation.  Giraldo has been with the Houston police department since 1995!
