It has been three weeks since a Houston / Waller County area attorney allegedly led law enforcement officers on a pursuit on highway 290. That attorney, who’s name we’re not releasing until there are charges, hasn’t been arrested. Instead investigators on the scene took the driver to a hospital for a blood draw. Officials from the Sheriff’s office say they have since turned the case over to the Waller County District Attorney. That has left some residents in Waller saying the whole case reeks of favoritism with someone who has clout in their community. However, there could soon be some answers and a conclusion in this ongoing saga. I received a call from the assistant to Waller County D.A. Elton Mathis. She says I should expect a call from him this Friday and he would be providing some answers. In the meantime, we have been able to obtain a summary of the incident report from the Sheriff’s Office. It indicates that suspect in this case was driving east in the west bound lane. The criminal charge, which hasn’t been filed, is listed as reckless driving. What also stand out about the report is no driver’s name is given. The Insite will continue to follow this story and bring you some answers as soon as I can get them!
