One deputy constable and one civilian were killed in a shooting in College Station after a Code Maroon emergency alert was issued Monday afternoon near the campus of Texas A&M University.The fallen deputy constable was an employee with Brazos County Precinct 1.The Code Maroon emergency alert issued before 12:45 p.m. Monday afternoon indicated that College Station police took an “active shooter” into custody.Multiple people, including at least two law enforcement officers, were shot.The shooter was detained on Fidelity Street southeast of the Texas A&M Student Recreation Center, a spokeswoman with the College Station Police Department confirmed. She said police has not determined if there was a second suspect in the shooting.In the Code Maroon alert issued at 12:44 p.m. Monday, people were encouraged to avoid the area near the intersection of Fidelity Street and Wellborn Road.
