DEAD VOTER PURGE OUTRAGES SOME IN THE COMMUNITY!

Who: Rev. Max A. Miller, Jr. and at least 50 ministers with the Baptist Ministers Association of Houston and Vicinity, Senior Citizens who have been removed from the voter’s roll and local elected officials.

What: Several senior citizens have received letters from the Tax Assessor’s office saying they’d been removed from the voter roll because they are listed as deceased. They also want to alert other senior citizens to be on the lookout for letters or other documents eliminate their right to vote.

Why: The Baptist Ministers’ Association wants the community to be aware of these attempts to suppress voter participation among seniors especially in the African-American community. They are also encouraging the entire community to be vigilant about the opportunities as well as challenges this election season.
