The Factor has learned some Houston community activists are planning a town hall meeting.
The focus will be voting.
Just this month a controversy erupted across the state of Texas.
In 2011 the Texas legislature passed a law that requires county election officials to purge dead voters from the rolls.
Activists say this wouldn’t be a big issue but the purge comes only two months before a Presidential election.
They also point to hundreds of death challenges going to people who are still alive.
Quanell X with the New Black Panther Party says he and others are working on the community meeting to address the issue.
He says he’s still deciding on the final location but it has been set for next Tuesday September 25.
