Fox 26 news and The Factor have learned a Harris County deputy has been suspended after the department launched an internal probe.
The sheriff’s department confirms Sgt. Sam Hayes has been relieved of duty and is now the target of an investigation.
Our sources say this is related to Sgt. Hayes’ alleged behavior at a shooting scene this week and how he treated another deputy during the event.
Alan Bernstein - a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office – would only confirm Hayes is relieved of duty with pay.
Hayes recently ran for the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable seat but lost.
We have not been able to reach the veteran law enforcement officer for a comment as of yet.
