Press Release: Aunt Bea’s Restaurant, a north Houston standard, will be welcoming veterans to enjoy a discounted meal on Sunday, November 11, in honor of their service. Active and veteran military will receive a 50% off with proof of service.
Also, patrons are encouraged to bring canned goods that will be contributed to the Houston Food Bank as the organization readies for the holidays. Anyone who brings a canned good on Sunday will receive a free side with the purchase of a meal. The restaurant wants to acknowledge the service of our military by paying it forward and supporting Houston-area families.
Sunday’s event is a part of Aunt Bea’s ongoing mission to support the community, primarily through its work to end hunger in Houston. “Having a restaurant is a sobering reminder that there are people who regularly go hungry and I can help change that,” said owner, Jarvis Johnson.
Later this month, the restaurant will also host a private veterans’ holiday luncheon in partnership with area organizations and community leaders. “It’s about creating opportunities to show our appreciation for others, especially those that have given so much for us all,” continues Johnson.
