Press Release: Sheriff Adrian Garcia and the entire Harris County Sheriff’s Office are excited to welcome seven new deputies to the HCSO family. All have served as law enforcement officers with other agencies.

The group of deputies is the first to be hired by the Sheriff’s Office since the lifting of a 2 and ½ year hiring freeze earlier this year.

The new deputies will train at the HCSO Academy before hitting the streets of Harris County as patrol deputies.

Separately, Sheriff Garcia has started replenishing the patrol force by transferring deputies from jail duty as they are replaced by new civilian detention officers.

Please join us in welcoming:

Robert Murrow – Spring Valley Police Department

Shannon Nichols – Houston Independent School District Police Department
