The NBA and Sprint, led by NBA Legends Elvin Hayes and Calvin Murphy, will host the NBA All-Star E-Recycling Day presented by Sprint at Discovery Green on Saturday, Feb. 9. As part of the NBA and Sprint’s shared commitment to environmental responsibility, each fan that drops off their old electronics to be recycled will receive tickets to NBA All-Star Jam Session on Thursday, Feb. 14 or Friday, Feb. 15, while supplies last.
E-waste is the largest growing waste stream in the country, generating 2.5 million tons of e-waste annually. The EPA estimates 135 million cell phones – 17,200 tons – are discarded nationwide each year. Sprint and the NBA are excited to offer customers and fans a unique opportunity to recycle their unwanted wireless devices.
CompuCycle will be the electronics recycler for NBA All-Star E-Recycling Day presented by Sprint and will be on-hand to provide their expertise as unused and end of life electronics are collected and recycled safely and responsibly, as mandated by their R2 Certification.
